Tottenham fans’ group angry as Spurs rule out return of Euro ticket packages for the Champions League

Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust have said they are “extremely disappointed” with the club for refusing to reinstate multi-game ticket packages for the Champions League group stage.

In 2016-17, Spurs offered members the chance to buy all three home matches for a discounted price before the draw was made, leading to record-breaking attendances at temporary home Wembley.

The move was repeated the following year, but halted last season due to the uncertainty over where the club would play amid delays to their new stadium.

Ahead of the Champions League draw on August 29, a THST statement read: “This season, it would have been possible for the club to offer the package, but it has chosen not to despite lobbying from the Trust on the back of substantial support from fans.”

They also declined to reintroduce two home cup credits which had been included in season-tickets, but ceased with the introduction of the multi-game deal.

THST added: “It’s extremely regrettable the club has decided to withdraw such a popular offer.”

Meanwhile, Jan Vertonghen is in contention to return for Saturday’s trip to Manchester City after missing the win over Aston Villa amid concerns over his fitness.
