Liverpool star Alisson doing extra training sessions to be fit for Man Utd clash | Football | Sport

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is reportedly doing extra training sessions as he aims to be fit to face Manchester United.

The Brazilian was injured during Liverpool’s opening game of the Premier League and has not featured since.

But he is eyeing up the clash against Manchester United, which comes after the current international break on October 20.

ESPN claim that while players not on international duty have been given the week off by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, Alisson has remained at the training complex.

It’s reported that Alisson is there to work on his sharpness with goalkeeping coach John Achterberg helping the shot-stopper with his speed, reactions, distribution and power.

It comes after Alisson spent the September international break doing catching, footwork and small passing drills.

Adrian has been between the sticks in Alisson’s absence and has helped Liverpool to a 100 per cent start to the Premier League season.

And Alisson has praised Adrian, who only made the move to Anfield on the eve of the new season.

“He’s a special guy who came late in the season, he just came and shows everyone his value, not just as a player but as a person and that is the more important thing,” Alisson said.

“He is doing very well on the pitch. I have peace to recover in a proper way so it’s better for everyone.”

And Georginio Wijnaldum has also praised the Spanish goalkeeper.

“Since the first day he settled quite well. He speaks with everyone and he’s a good person, everyone talks with him.

“You could see that he was not shy. Normally when players come in they always look, ‘Who can I talk to?’ and everything, but he talks with everyone. Before the game, he says what he wants to say.

“Basically since the day he came in he was already one of us.”
