Man Utd: Fans all say the same thing about De Gea after Kepa penalty in Norway v Spain | Football | Sport

Manchester United fans have trolled Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga after he conceded a penalty in the dying minutes for Spain against Norway.

He appeared to try and punch a loose ball clear in the penalty box, but instead collided with Omar Elabdellaoui.

Norway were awarded the penalty, and Bournemouth’s Josh King dispatched the spot kick into the bottom corner.

It didn’t take long for United fans to start making comparisons to their own goalkeeper, David De Gea, who was dropped for the Chelsea number one.

“De gea > Kepa,” tweeted one United fan after the match.

“Kepa hahhaa,” added another. “De gea at his absolute worse still better than this clown.”

“This is the Kepa they said is better than De Gea,” said one fan, along with three laughing face emojis.

“Kepa… And they said he’s better than De Gea,” tweeted another supporter.

“Kepa is so overrated,” commented one Twitter user. “How is he starting over De Gea again?

“If Kepa had to play with Jones, Smalling & 2 failed wingers for 5 years he wouldn’t even be rated. De Gea deserves better.”

Kepa was promoted to the starting line-up for Spain after a string of poor performances from De Gea for the national team.

Crucially, he made a big mistake against Portugal in last summer’s World Cup, which sparked a backlash from Spanish fans.

De Gea started Spain’s last Euro 2020 qualifier, against the Faroe Islands; a 4-0 win for the Spaniards.

But, the United goalkeeper has only featured twice for the national team in their seven qualifiers, with Kepa being handed the other five spots.

In the reverse fixture, where Spain hosted Norway in March, King also scored a penalty for Norway.

He scored the spot-kick past De Gea, but Spain still edged a narrow 2-1 win.
