Juventus player ratings vs Lokomotiv Moscow: Dybala outshines Ronaldo with late double | Football | Sport
Juventus kept their Champions League campaign on course with a dramatic late win over Lokomotiv Moscow thanks to Paulo Dybala’s double.
Aleksey Miranchuk gave the visitors the lead and Juve struggled to break down a resolute rearguard until Dybala equalised with a brilliant finish from outside the area with 13 minutes remaining.
The Argentine international then completed the turnaround with another strike three minutes later to send the Italian giants back to the top of Group D, level on points with Atletico Madrid.
Express Sport have rated how the Juventus players performed during their clash with Lokomotiv Moscow – but do you agree?
Juventus player ratings vs Lokomotiv Moscow – Champions League
GK: Wojciech Szczesny – 5
Arguably at fault for the opener when he failed to clear the danger, but rarely tested otherwise.
RB: Juan Cuadrado – 7
Has grown into the right-back role this season, providing Maurizio Sarri with excellent defensive cover while his attacking endeavour created the equaliser.
CB: Leonardo Bonucci – 5
Made to look foolish by Joao Mario for the opener and looked a little lost at times.
CB: Matthijs de Ligt – 4
Caught out when he misjudged his header for Lokomotiv’s strike, with fans slamming the Dutchman for the mistake.
LB: Alex Sandro – 7
Covered plenty of ground in attack and defence with his stinging shot leading to the winner.
CM: Miralem Pjanic – 7
Kept things ticking over with excellent ball retention and an impressive range of passing.
CM: Sami Khedira – 4
Really struggled to impose himself on a crowded midfield and was subbed just after the break.
CM: Blaise Matuidi – 5
Covered Sandro when the Brazilian roamed forward but was sacrificed as Juve chased the game.
CAM: Rodrigo Bentancur – 6
Tried to make things happen but was often frustrated in the No 10 role as Lokomotiv denied him space.
Had a greater impact on the game when he dropped back into a more conventional midfield role.
ST: Paulo Dybala – 8
The star of the show with two late goals to rescue all three points and fully deserves the headlines.
ST Cristiano Ronaldo – 5
Overshadowed by his strike partner with the talismanic forward rarely threatening, missing one chance early on then going close with a free kick in the dying seconds.
SUB: Gonzalo Higuain (on for Khedira, 48 mins) – 6
Helped fault Juve up the pitch, providing a focal point for attacks.
SUB: Adrien Rabiot (on for Matuidi, 65 mins) – 6
Got his foot on the ball and started dictating the temp.
SUB: Federico Bernardeschi (on for Dybala, 81 mins) – N/A
No time to really make an impact.
