Alonso in danger at Chelsea
Marcos Alonso is facing the chop at Chelsea if Marina Granovskaia and co manage to land Ben Chilwell for Frank Lampard.
Express Sport has reported Chilwell is on Lampard’s wanted list as he looks forward to the end of Chelsea’s transfer ban.
And it has now emerged Alonso will be the man to be axed if Chelsea are successful in their pursuit of the Leicester defender.
The Telegraph report Emerson Palmieri will be safe in the squad shake-up with Lampard preferring the Italy international to Alonso.

A couple of Premier League managers might meet the men who may succeed them in their current roles next week.
UEFA Elite Coaches’ Forum is due to take place on Monday at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be in attendance alongside Massimiliano Allegri – the man tipped to replace him at Manchester United.
Likewise, Unai Emery will come face-to-face with Jose Mourinho, who’s been linked with the Arsenal manager’s job.

Celtic example to Rangers
Rangers are said to be looking to take a leaf out of Celtic’s book by copying the buy them cheap, sell them high transfer model.
The Gers have watched their Glaswegian rivals make big profits on the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Moussa Dembele in recent years.
And Football Insider claim Ibrox chiefs are determined to do the same going forward if they’re forced to make sales.
Alfredo Morelos and James Tavernier are two of the players Rangers would no expect to make money on if they left Scotland.

Gerrard to Arsenal?
Steven Gerrard has been tipped to call time on his spell as Rangers boss if Arsenal come calling one day.
Ex-Manchester United player and talkSPORT host Alan Brazil can see Gerrard following in the footsteps of a former Old Firm rival.
“If the Arsenal job comes up, see you later,” Brazil said on Thursday. “He’ll do a Brendan [Rodgers].”
Gerrard has previously been backed to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool if he is to head back to the Premier League.

Tottenham transfer concern
Former Tottenham striker Darren Bent fears Spurs could lose Paulo Gazzaniga if Mauricio Pochettino throws Hugo Lloris into the team when he returns from injury.
“I get Lloris is his first choice, he’s been a great goalkeeper for many years now but at some stage you start to get over the hill,” Bent told Football Insider.
“If he’s at that point, I’m not sure, but his form, the mistakes he’s been making, would suggest potentially yes.
“I’m sure that’s a worry for Pochettino because yes, he likes Lloris, but you don’t want another team to come and get Gazzaniga because there are several teams in the league at the minute that would love a goalkeeper like him.”

Real Madrid’s Chelsea plan
Spanish outlet ElDesmarque claim Florentino Perez is eager to convince Mbappe not to sign a new deal at the Parc des Princes.
That would allow the Real president to capitalise on the forward having just 12 months left to run on his contract next summer.
Real successfully carried out such a below-market-value raid on Chelsea back in June after Hazard entered the final year of his Blues agreement.

Barcelona want Arsenal’s Aubameyang
Spanish TV show El Chiringuito claim the Catalan giants are prepared to offer the Gabon international a route away from north London.
Arsenal are yet to live up to what they promised Aubameyang when he joined them with challenging for Premier League glory a long way off.
Real Madrid have also been touted as an option for the former Borussia Dortmund hitman, who is the Gunners’ top scorer this term.

Man Utd problem
Manchester United hero Paul Scholes doesn’t think Victor Lindelof is up to scratch to play alongside Harry Maguire in the heart of defence.
Scholes aired his concern while appearing as a BT Sport pundit when United beat Partizan Belgrade 3-0 in the Europa League on Thursday night.
While he believes Axel Tuanzebe could step up to the mark, the former United midfielder has his doubts about fellow defender Lindelof.
“I think possibly at centre-half they could need a partner for Maguire, although Tuanzebe looks a good option. I’m not sure about Lindelof,” Scholes said.

Liverpool transfer failure
Liverpool were beaten to the punch for Rodrygo because they tried to low-ball his former club Santos.
That’s according to former Santos coach Elano, who has revealed the Reds were seriously keen on the Real Madrid winger.
“There was a period when there was very strong interest from Liverpool for him to leave when he was still at base,” Elano told ESPN.
“The values were very low, but they wanted to have a go. Real’s offer afterwards was around €30m more! I had a conversation with the staff and said the boy was worth the bet.”
