Liverpool news: Mohamed Salah tells Philippe Coutinho his Real Madrid transfer plans | Football | Sport
Liverpool star Salah is on Real Madrid’s radar with the La Liga giants currently mulling over a £200million transfer.
The Egypt international has taken the Premier League by storm this season, smashing home 43 goals from 47 appearances across all competitions.
Coutinho left Liverpool for Barcelona back in January but Spanish outlet Don Balon say he remains in close contact with players from his old club.
And it is said that Salah has told Coutinho that he feels this month’s Champions League final is key to his future.
He reportedly told the Brazilian he thinks Real will go in for him if he fires Liverpool to Champions League glory.
Express Sport understands Los Blancos’ top target is PSG’s Neymar.
But, given he only moved to the Parc des Princes from Barcelona last summer, another high-profile transfer looks unlikely.
Liverpool have supposedly promised Salah they will negotiate with other clubs if he lands them the biggest trophy of them all.
And Don Balon report Coutinho and Salah have also been discussing the match.
The Barcelona forward reportedly feels his club can spring a major surprise and end Real’s hopes of a third consecutive Champions League title.
Meanwhile, Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp has lauded Salah for his Liverpool heroics this season.
“He’s been sensational,” he said.
“And it will be fantastic to see him and the whole Liverpool team go head to head with Real Madrid in the Champions League final, an incredible moment for those players, the fans and everyone involved.
“As well as the brilliance of Salah in attack, for me, there’s no way Liverpool would be in this healthy position if they hadn’t signed Virgil van Dijk.
“Loris Karius, and the rest of the defence look better players with him alongside them. He’s been amazing and a great influence on that backline.”
