Celtic team news: Predicted Celtic line up vs RB Leipzig | Football | Sport
Brendan Rodgers could be without up to seven first-team players for Celtic’s Europa League match-up against RB Leipzig.
The Hoops are third in Group B after just one win from their opening three matches and know victory is necessary to keep alive any realistic hope of progressing through to the knockout stages.
They will have to do so while battling a host of injuries, although Rodgers has revealed Youssouf Mulumbu is available once again.
Scott Brown and Eboue Kouassi are both sidelined against the Bundesliga outfit, while Jozo Simunovic and Cristian Gamboa are also ruled out.
Meanwhile, Daniel Arzani and Nir Britton are joined in the treatment room by Leigh Griffiths who will not be available until after the international break.
On the other hand, Olivier Ntcham is pushing for a return to action after suffering an injury in the League Cup semi-final against Hearts.
Ntcham would usually come straight back into the side if fit, but Rodgers has a tough call to make with Ryan Christie scoring three in his last three matches.
Inexperience may count against the 23-year-old, although he has certainly made his mark over the past few weeks.
Celtic are currently in superb form, having beaten Hearts 5-0 last weekend and thrashed Dundee by the same score in midweek.
The Scottish champions have scored 23 goals in their last five domestic matches and conceded just two in that time.
Speaking ahead of the clash Rodgers said: “We’re certainly in a better place than we were a number of weeks ago so the team’s really confident and playing well, scoring goals, defensively strong.
“If we’re to progress or have any opportunity to progress out of the group, it’s a game we really have to win.”
