Irish Fans Get 500 Tickets For Opening Euro 2020 Game

4views

The ticket details for Ireland’s first game in the Euro 2020 campaign have been confirmed.

Mick McCarthy’s first competitive match in charge of Ireland in over 15 years will take place on Saturday, 23 March.

The boys in green are away to Gibraltar, and considering the circumstances, the ticket allocation for the tie is generous to the away support.

The FAI have confirmed that 500 tickets have been secured for Irish fans travelling to the Iberian peninsula next spring.

Gibraltar stated that they will host the Group D game at the Victoria Stadium, which with a capacity of just 2,300, could have led to a minuscule Irish presence.

But instead of the 10% often allocated after the request that sees another 5% added after the initial 5% is released, Ireland’s total allocation is more than double that amount.

Ever more tickets are expected to be made available by the FAI for more dedicated fans as we get closer to the tie in a few months time.

Three days later, Ireland will host Georgia at the Aviva with the next set of fixtures scheduled to take place in June. Denmark and Switzerland make up the remainder of Group D.
