Stoke City news and transfer gossip LIVE! Paul Lambert press conference ahead of Stoke reunion
Lambert: Stoke should be in the top two
Paul Lambert says in his press conference: “(Gary Rowett) has kept a lot of the lads as well. That was a big thing. The club did well to keep a lot of the lads who played in the Premier League for a long time. That was really good.
“They invested the way they did and them and West Brom were always my tips to go up.
“Stoke still might get in that top two but I think they probably though they’d be up there already.”
Would he take a draw?
“No, I’ll take a win!
“I know how hard it’s going to be but it’s a brilliant place to go and play; the atmosphere is great, the pitch, everything about it is great.
“We will go there and do everything we can to go and win. I think everyone at Stoke will know that.
“I’m looking forward to seeing people.”
Does he expect a good reaction?
“I think so. I think myself and Stuart and Jim, who were there, I think the crowd saw we gave everything and I don’t think anyone will close the door on us and say we never gave it a go.
“We came in at a really hard time, especially in that league, and we drew too many games. That was the bottom line.”
