Euro giants can crush this 5/1 Same Game Multi

10views

Defending champions Real Madrid should have a relatively comfortable passage to the quarter-finals of this year’s competition given their recent domestic form and the fact that they’ve smashed 20 goals past Ajax in their last six meetings, while only conceding two.

However, we reckon there is still some value to be had from a Same Game Multi here, so let’s look at the two sides’ form.

Madrid have won six of their last seven in all competitions, scoring at least three times in five of those games.

Their last two results have been the most notable, though: a solid 1-1 draw with Barcelona at the Nou Camp in the first leg of their Copa Del Rey semi-final and an impressive 3-1 dispatching of city rivals Atlético in the Madrid derby three days later.

As ever, though, Los Blancos are far from clean at the back though, managing just two shut-outs during this run.

Ajax, meanwhile, have been something of a quandary recently. They have been relatively free-scoring domestically – Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Heracles Almelo was the first time the Eredivisie’s top scoring team has failed to find the net in a league game since losing 3-0 to PSV in September.

Before the weekend, though, the Amsterdam side had scored 12 times in their previous three outings.

The issue, however, is that were also quite happy to ship a few goals in those games – while they hit VVV-Venlo for six without reply, they lost 6-2 to league leaders Feyenoord and drew 4-4 with Heerenveen. Whatever the Ajax coach let his players smoke over the winter break, it hasn’t helped their title chances as they’ve lost one and drawn two of their four league games in 2019.

With this in mind, we think the stage is set for one young man to light up the Johan Cruyff Arena: Vinícius Júnior.

Since Santiago Solari’s appointment as caretaker coach at the Bernabéu in October, the €46 million signing from Flamengo has been more prominent in Madrid’s first-team squad. The teen sensation comes into this tie on the back of a tidy goal against Alaves and an enthusiastic showing against Atletico Madrid in La Liga.

We reckon Solari persists with his faith in the precocious Brazilian against Ajax who rewards this with a decisive goal; the Dutch side to their credit will find the target, but lose on the night to make good on this 5/1 Same Game Multi.
