Stan S. Kuramoto, 59, of Rochester, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at Seasons Hospice House in Rochester after a short, courageous battle with kidney cancer.

Stan was born April 26, 1959, in Chicago, to Tamotsu and Rosie Kuramoto. He graduated from the University of Illinois — Urbana-Champaign with a degree in computer science. He went on to work for IBM in Manassas, Va., before moving to Rochester in 1993.

In 1986, he married Natalie Wo in Manassas, Va., and they started their family before moving to Rochester.

Stan was involved with Med-City Aquatics. He was a board member, parent and coach with Euro Football Club. He also coached the John Marshall Girls’ varsity soccer team for five years. Stan was an avid Chicago sports fan including the Bulls, Bears, and Cubs. He enjoyed watching Arsenal FC and the Tour De France.

He is survived by his wife, Natalie; three daughters, Sydney and Taylor of St. Paul, and Sloane of Rochester; and his parents. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy (George) Martinez of Chicago; and his brother, Tracy (Judy Mannetter) Kuramoto of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Peter Kuramoto.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice.
