Solskjaer is expected to have a busy summer but it’s not going to be easy for the Norwegian.
United finished sixth in the Premier League, meaning no Champions League football, amid a season of disappointment.
There are expected to be a number of comings and goings with some big names such as Alexis Sanchez set to depart.
But Solskjaer is keen to bring some fresh faces to his side as they look to make a charge at least on the top four next season.

It’s clear Manchester United need a new central defender who can command the backline and offer strength and stability, despite reports suggesting Solskjaer isn’t focusing on that area.
United have been linked to the Real Madrid star Varane for many months and it’s believed United would be prepared to sanction a world record deal for the ace.
Real Madrid faltered last season and lost their Champions League crown.
They are unlikely to be a force again in Europe next season and Varane could prove to be Solskjaer answer to Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool.
With the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Anthony Martial likely to depart Old Trafford, Manchester United need new attacking flair.
Youngster Sancho is another that the Red Devils have been linked with and United could provide the Borussia Dortmund star with a path back to English football.
Reports suggest he is happy with Dortmund having played in the Champions League with the German side.
But with Solskjaer being keen to focus on youth, Sancho could be perfect.
Crystal Palace star Wan-Bissaka also ticks the boxes when it comes to a youth policy.
The right-back shone this season leading to a number of top Premier League clubs being linked to the 21-year-old.
With Antonio Valencia definitely departing and Ashley Young widely criticised, a right-back is sure to be on Solskjaer’s wish-list.
He wouldn’t come cheap but it’s a position the Palace man could make his own at Old Trafford.
Barcelona appear favourites to sign the Frenchman, who confirmed he will leave Atletico Madrid this summer, but United have also been linked with a move.
Should the Red Devils lose Paul Pogba, then Griezmann will fit the star billing that comes with being at Old Trafford.
Reports in Spain suggest United could steal in with it being claimed United are willing to give him better wages than Barcelona.
It would be a huge coup if Solskjaer can pull it off, but Griezmann could prove the difference as United look to get back into the Premier League top four.
