Paul Pogba: What Man Utd star is up to as Real Madrid plot Old Trafford transfer raid | Football | Sport
The France international was Manchester United’s star player in the second half of the season, scoring 11 goals and picking up seven assists after Jose Mourinho’s dismissal last December.
United endured a nightmare end to the campaign, though, finishing in sixth place and suffering an embarrassing home defeat to Cardiff on the final day.
Paul Pogba came in for immense criticism in the final few games of the season, with some of the Old Trafford faithful calling for United to part company with him.
Real Madrid are understood to be interested in signing the World Cup winner, who has flirted with a move to the Bernabeu.
Los Blancos are said to be willing to meet United’s valuation of the 26-year-old, which is upwards of £100million.
Although there’s plenty of uncertainty over his future, Pogba certainly isn’t letting it get to him.
In fact, judging from his latest Instagram post, he’s more focused on his son than his playing future.
On Tuesday, Pogba posted a picture of him pushing his son in a pram at Milan Malpensa international airport.
The accompanying caption read: “Daddy’s life.”
A few hours later, it emerged Pogba and his girlfriend Maria Salaues had flown out to sunny Dubai with their two-month-old son.
Pogba documented their first day in the UAE on his Instagram story, uploading videos of himself and Salaues going for a stroll and having dinner.
It remains to be seen if the midfielder will be a Manchester United player next season, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s firm denial he won’t be sold.
The lure of playing Champions League football could prove to be too much for the former Juventus man to resist and could even lead to him handing in a transfer request.
And his France team-mate Raphael Varane believes there’s a strong possibility they’ll be team-mates come the end of the summer.
“I can’t say what I talk to [Pogba] about, but any great player has a place at Madrid and he is one,” Varane told Marca. “In Madrid, there is a lot of competition.
“It is a possibility, there is a lot of noise around and we will see in August where he is.”
