Leicester City are joint-best-represented club at U21 Euros with 7 stars competing
Leicester City will be the joint-best-represented club at this summer’s European Under-21 Championships.
Seven young City stars are in Italy and San Marino for the Euros, more than any club other than Belgian side Genk, who also have seven representatives competing.
Four of England’s 23-man squad are City players, with James Maddison, Demarai Gray, Harvey Barnes and Hamza Choudhury all hoping to help the Young Lions to glory at the tournament, which begins on Sunday.
England play France in their first Group C match on Tuesday, while earlier on the same day, two City players will meet as the pool’s other two nations face off. Croatia’s Filip Benkovic, who spent the season on loan at Celtic, and Romania’s Alex Pascanu will both aim to get the better of one another.
Goalkeeper Daniel Iversen, representing Denmark, completes City’s septet.
City have may been the outright leaders if Bartosz Kapustka had not suffered a serious knee injury on loan at OH Leuven. The Polish winger was a key player for his country in qualifying, but a cruciate ligament tear saw him ruled out.
