Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Pogba decision, Solskjaer orders Woodward signing, Neymar plan | Football | Sport
Juan Mata close to signing new Man Utd deal
Juan Mata is moving closer to signing a contract extension to stay at Manchester United.
The midfielder is out of contract in two weeks’ time and has yet to agree a new deal.
But talks are ongoing between Mata’s representatives and United, with those close to the discussions claiming it is “90 per cent” certain an agreement will be reached.
Mata currently earns £140,000-a-week but is asking for a significant pay rise to stay at Old Trafford.
The Spaniard joined United from Chelsea for £37.5million in 2014.
Paul Pogba will not be allowed to leave
Manchester United will not allow Paul Pogba to leave the club this summer.
The World Cup winner has made comments stating he could look for a new challenge after having another inconsistent season at Old Trafford.
But Sky Sports claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has no intention of letting Pogba leave the club this summer.
Pogba netted 16 goals and provided 11 assists for United last season but was still criticised for his performances.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer determined to get Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly hammered home the importance of signing Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Ed Woodward.
Manchester United duo Solskjaer and Woodward are currently pressing ahead with the club’s transfer plans as they plot a route back to the summit of the English and European game.
The Red Devils have already signed one player in the form of Daniel James, who touched down from Swansea in a £17million transfer last week.
Manchester United are eyeing as many as six new faces this summer after a nightmare campaign where they finished sixth in the Premier League table.
Two midfielders are on his radar – regardless of Paul Pogba’s future – as well as a new forward should Romelu Lukaku leave for Inter Milan.
And the Evening Standard say United are determined to make Wan-Bissaka another signing for the summer.
Manchester United may launch a transfer bid for Neymar if Paul Pogba leaves for Real Madrid, reports say.
Real Madrid and Barcelona have been considered frontrunners in the race to sign the Brazil international.
But Catalan outlet Sport have named Manchester United as among the potential destinations.
It is claimed the Red Devils may move for the Samba star if Pogba departs for Real Madrid.
The Red Devils would need a marketable talisman should the World Cup winner jump ship.
And Neymar, with his reputation as a superstar, would certainly fit the bill.
