Arsenal must back Unai Emery

Arsenal have been told they need to match the ambitions of Unai Emery by Shaka Hislop.

“Unai Emery is a very accomplished coach,” declared Hislop on ESPN FC.

“Compare him to the current managers of both Chelsea and Manchester United, I’d have Unai Emery.

“That being said, you have to support what he’s doing, what his ambitions are.

“Right now, all the signals coming out of Arsenal are that they don’t seem to be really backing him.

“There hasn’t been a whole lot of action in the transfer market.

“There is still a little bit of time but if nothing happens, as we sit right now, even with lesser managers in Lampard and Solskjaer, I think Chelsea and United fare better than Arsenal.”

Nabil Fekir to snub Arsenal

Nabil Fekir is ready to snub a move to Arsenal in favour of seeking a move to La Liga, which in turn could help Tottenham secure their transfer target.

Arsenal were considering making an offer for Nabil Fekir after Lyon offered the player to them for £30million.

Fekir was close to coming to the Premier League last summer when Liverpool were on the verge of completing a £53m deal for the player, but the deal collapsed after the France international failed a medical.

Lyon are still willing to let the attacking player leave the club, as he just has one year remaining on his current contract, however Fekir reportedly favours a move to Spain over England.

According to French publication LeParisien, Lyon are in ‘advanced’ talks with Real Betis over a transfer with the Spanish side needing to pay just £27m to see the deal completed.

Nicolas Pepe agent speaks

Arsenal are among several Premier League clubs interested in Nicolas Pepe, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton also monitoring Pepe’s situation with Lille.

But all the teams will no doubt be analysing the recent comments from Pepe’s agent Samir Khiat.

“The aim is for him to sign in the right place. PSG is a possibility,” Khiat told French TV show L’Equipe Mercato.

“Today, all parties need to reach an agreement. There are exchanges and discussions.

“He is wanted by a considerable number of clubs.

“For him the most important thing is to be wanted and to go to a good club in which he will play and continue to progress.”

Laurent Koscielny replacement picked

Arsenal have turned their attention to Benfica star Ruben Dias as they look for a replacement for Laurent Koscielny, according to reports.

Centre-back and club captain Koscielny went on strike and refused to travel with the rest of the squad to the United Staes for the Gunners’ pre-season tour.

The Frenchman, 33, is unhappy at not being allowed to move back to France with Bordeaux prepared to offer him a three-year deal.

Arsenal are now resigned to losing a player who has been at the club for nine years.

And the Mail claim they will now try to sign Dias having previously been interested at the start of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal make huge Nicolas Pepe bid

Arsenal have made a mammoth £72million offer for Lille forward Nicolas Pepe, it has been claimed.

The 24-year-old starred for the French side last season putting a bunch of top clubs on alert.

As well as the Gunners, Liverpool have been linked with Pepe this summer.

But now French TV channel TF1 have made the extraordinary claim Arsenal boss Unai Emery has made a £72m bid for the forward.

That’s despite Arsenal only reportedly having £45m to spend after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

New Kieran Tierney offer

Arsenal have made a new improved transfer offer for Kieran Tierney, and the Celtic star has made a decision on his future.

The Gunners first registered an interest in the left-back last month when they submitted a bid of around £15million.

However the offer was rejected by the Scottish champions who believe the offer was well short of their valuation.

Now Arsenal have submitted a new offer of £25m and are waiting to hear back from Celtic.

According to The Sun, a source at Celtic has claimed Tierney wants to move to the Premier League.

They said: “Kieran loves Celtic but his heart is set on a move to the Premier League.

“We all know he wants to further his career and offers like this do not come along often, so it looks inevitable.”

Wilfried Zaha warning sent

Arsenal have been urged to forget signing Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha.

Former midfielder Stewart Robson says that would be the wrong decision because Zaha is not good enough for the level Arsenal want to reach.

“The worry for me is there’s talk of Aubameyang being sold so they can get money to buy other players,” Robson said on ESPN FC.

“And then they’ve made ridiculous offers for Zaha which Crystal Palace say is disgusting and not right.

“Zaha, having seeing him at the African Cup of Nations, Crystal Palace I think is his level.

“He’s a good player at Crystal Palace, he tried at Manchester United.

“If Arsenal bought him for a lot of money, I don’t think he’d be a success.”
