Man Utd news: Gary Neville delivers bold Premier League title and top four prediction | Football | Sport
The Red Devils were held to a 1-1 draw at Wolves on Monday evening.
Paul Pogba missed a second-half penalty, however, Manchester United maintained their unbeaten start to the season.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men hammered Chelsea 4-0 on the opening weekend before the Wolves stalemate.
And Neville has given his Premier League predictions for the season, with the United hero adamant Manchester City will win their third consecutive title.
The Sky Sports pundit says Liverpool will finish second, with Tottenham and United making up the top four.
“I think United will get into the top four,” he said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
“Not because of what happened last week, I think United have got more options at centre-forward – Martial and Rashford.
“I think Chelsea will struggle to score goals and losing Hazard was devastating for them.”
City and Liverpool once again seem a level above the rest this season.
However, Neville is backing United to match their rivals in the next two seasons, especially if Pep Guardiola leaves City.
“I like this team a lot more,” Neville added.
“I look at the team and they all want to be at the club – perhaps Paul Pogba has aspirations to leave the club and play elsewhere. But he’s settled down.
“It’s a team that’s got energy and youth – I like it. It’s not slow or boring. They are having a go.
“It needs two or three senior additions that will make them really good but if that team can grow together.
“They are not going to take over City in the next 12-18 months, but when Pep Guardiola leaves City and if Liverpool don’t recruit as well as they have done, then Manchester United must be ready to pounce.
“If this develops, they’ve got a big chance of doing something in two years’ time.”
