Premier League Team of the Week: Chelsea pair join Liverpool trio and Man City veteran | Football | Sport
Tammy Abraham and Mohamed Salah both make the Express Sport Premier League Team of the Week
Liverpool maintained their 100 per cent start to the season with an impressive 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Anfield on Sunday.
Mohamed Salah was on target twice to help see off the Gunners while Chelsea eventually got the better of Norwich in a 3-2 thriller at Carrow Road after a Tammy Abraham double.
Elsewhere, Crystal Palace shocked Manchester United at Old Trafford and Newcastle pulled off an upset against Newcastle thanks to Joelinton’s first goal for the Magpies.
Manchester City were too good for Bournemouth and Aston Villa bagged their first three points of the season in a comfortable win over Everton – but which individual performances stood out this weekend?
Premier League Team of the Week GW3
GKP: Martin Dubravka (Newcastle United)
Newcastle were written off before the weekend, with their dismal performances so far this season leaving little hope of getting a result away at Tottenham.
However, Dubravka was in imperious form and helped steer the Magpies to a vital clean sheet with a couple of big stops and a commanding display.
RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool)
Alexander-Arnold was on set-piece duty once again for the Reds against Arsenal and it was his corner that Matip met to open the scoring.
But the right-back is far more than just a dead-ball specialist, with an energetic all-action performance once again reminding fans of how important he is to club and country.

CB: Joel Matip (Liverpool)
The Cameroon defender has started the Reds’ last two matches and appears to have moved ahead of Joe Gomez in the pecking order under Jurgen Klopp.
Opening the scoring against Arsenal will not have harmed his cause at all while a brilliant recovery challenge on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang showed his defensive qualities.
CB: Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa)
Aston Villa got the Premier League action underway on Friday night against Everton and Mings played a vital part in the 2-0 victory for the newly-promoted side.
Signed from Bournemouth for £20million after a successful loan spell, the centre-back has quickly become a fan-favourite at Villa Park and put in a titanic display to nullify any threat the Toffees posed.
LB: Patrick van Aanholt (Crystal Palace)
Palace caused the shock of the weekend but taking all three points off United at Old Trafford, with Van Aanholt scoring the winner with seconds remaining.
The Dutchman has developed a reputation as a marauding full-back but his defensive work was also solid here as the Eagles earned their first win of the campaign.

CM: Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea)
Kovacic has flattered to deceive during his time at Stamford Bridge but this was arguably his best performance in a Chelsea shirt.
The Croatian was dynamic in possession and robust in defence, driving his team forward as the Blues showed some real grit to earn a result against a dogged Norwich side.
CM: David Silva (Manchester City)
Silva is a Manchester City legend and this performance against Bournemouth will only reinforce that opinion.
The Spaniard provided two assists and should have had a penalty as he pulled the strings at the Vitality Stadium.
CM: James Maddison (Leicester City)
Leicester dominated for large spells against Sheffield United and Maddison was at the heart of everything good from the Foxes.
The midfielder added another assist to his growing tally and its hardly surprising that the playmaker has been attracting attention from Manchester United.
James Maddison was at the heart of Leicester’s win over Sheffield United
ST: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool)
Salah terrorised David Luiz all afternoon, running the Brazilian ragged and scoring a brace to seal the points for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
His penalty was one of the best seen in recent years while the second was Salah at his very best, streaking clear of the covering defenders and slamming home.
ST: Sebastien Haller (West Ham United)
Back from injury and off the mark at his new club, Haller scored twice against a dismal Watford side to help the Hammers record their first win of the season.
The Frenchman has a huge role to play at the London Stadium this season and this was an excellent way to start.
ST: Tammy Abraham (Chelsea)
This was far from the perfect Chelsea performance, but Abraham was a shining light as he scored his first two senior goals for the Blues.
A fierce half-volley in the opening minutes was followed up by an excellent touch, run and finish that will have fans excited for the rest of the season.
