Liverpool fans slammed Michael Keane on social media after the England defender’s mistake against Kosovo.
Everton star Keane was at fault for Kosovo’s opening goal after just 34 seconds.
The defender’s pass went straight to Vedat Muriqi’s feet who played in Valon Berisha.
The Kosovo forward fired past Jordan Pickford to put the visitors ahead in the European Championship qualifier.
And Liverpool fans took to social media to slam the Everton star, with many claiming Keane shouldn’t be in the England side ahead of Joe Gomez.
One fan wrote on Twitter: “Hahahahaha Keane retire.”
Another agreed: “That’s what happens when u play Keane instead of Gomez.”
“And that’s why Keane plays for the ev,” said another Liverpool fan.
“Keane better than Gomez (two laughing emojis),” agreed another.
A fellow Reds fan fumed: “Serves Southgate right for starting Keane over Gomez.”
“Keane is so s***,” another simply put.
“HAHAHAHAHAHA MICHAEL KEANE MATEEEE,” a fellow Liverpool fan said.
Following Keane’s error and Kosovo’s opener, the Everton star bounced back.
The defender set up Raheem Sterling’s equaliser in the the eighth minute.
Keane headed back across goal for the Manchester City forward to nod home.
England can maintain their 100 per cent record in their European Championships qualifying group with a win against Kosovo.
