Euro 2020 in doubt as Bayern Munich confirm Niklas Süle injury
Bayern Munich could be without Niklas Süle for the rest of the season.
The club confirmed on Sunday morning that the defender suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his left knee on Saturday.
Süle played just 12 minutes of the 2-2 draw against Augsburg as the injury forced him off the pitch. It’s the second time he’s suffered the injury, following on from a seven month lay-off with Hoffenheim in the 2014/15 season.
Cruciate ligament injuries can rule players out for up to nine months and Süle is now a huge doubt for the remainder of the season as well as Euro 2020.
The 24-year-old will undergo surgery on Sunday.
