Bournemouth are not looking to sell Ryan Fraser in the January transfer window despite the winger’s contract running out in June.
Liverpool were linked with a move for Fraser in the New Year with the player seemingly willing to take his future into his own hands.
The Scotland international has so far turned down improved contract terms from Bournemouth with a Bosman move in the summer possible.
As per talkSPORT, Liverpool were lining up a £10-£15million winter move for Fraser but the Reds’ chances of securing his signature have taken a blow.
That is because The Athletic claim Bournemouth are not looking to sell Fraser in January.
It is a tough position in which Cherries chiefs find themselves, with Fraser one of the most valuable members of the squad.
The former Aberdeen wide-man scored seven goals and provided 14 assists in the Premier League last season, making him the second most creative player in the division behind Eden Hazard.
Arsenal sniffed around a potential transfer but Bournemouth were clear they would not sell.
The club were confident they could secure ‘Wee Man’ – as he is called by his team-mates and the coaching staff – on a long-term deal but Fraser held his rebuffed their offers.
Bournemouth can now cash in on the sought-after talent in January or get five more months out of him and let him leave for free in the summer.
Fraser has not hit the heights of last season despite still getting regular game-time, but for a spell in late September when he was out of the starting line-up for four straight matches, scoring once and providing two assists in the league.
If Liverpool were still to pull off the move it was claimed that Bournemouth would enquire as to the possibility of making Harry Wilson’s loan move from Anfield permanent.
The Liverpool youth product has impressed at the Vitality Stadium this season with four Premier League goals but his eventual path into the first team at his parent club would be hampered by Fraser’s arrival.
