FIFA 20 TOTW 9 predictions: FUT Team of the Week to include Messi, Lewandowski, Nainggolan | Football | Sport
Lionel Messi and Rober Lewandowski stand a good chance of being selected in TOTW 9
FIFA 20 gamers are awaiting the latest Team of the Week release as they eye up In-Form players for their FUT Champions rewards, and Lionel Messi is almost certain to be the biggest prize this time around.
Express Sport backed the Barcelona talisman to get the nod last week after two goals and two assists against Real Valladolid, but the Argentine was overlooked by EA Sports.
A hat-trick against Celta Vigo this time around makes it inconceivable that Messi will not finally be handed a stats boost, with a 95-rated card expected.
Elsewhere, Robert Lewandowski hit a brace against Borussia Dortmund, Radja Nainggolan helped Cagliari tear apart Fiorentina and Dimitri Payet was on the scoresheet twice for Marseille – but who else is expected to receive upgrades?
FIFA 20 TOTW 9 starting XI predictions
GK: Wojciech Szczesny (Piemonte Calcio)
There are a host of strong goalkeeper options this week, particularly from Serie A, but Szczesny gets our starting spot after seven saves secured a 1-0win over AC Milan.
RB: Capa (Athletic Bilbao)
A goal and an assist in Bilbao’s 2-1 win over Levante should see Capa finally rewarded with an upgrade.
LB: Andrew Robertson (Liverpool)
Fabinho was the stand-out player from Liverpool’s win over Manchester City, but the Brazilian’s inclusion in TOTW 7 means EA will have to look elsewhere so Robertson could be the big beneficiary after another all-action display.
LB: Alex Telles (FC Porto)
Telles popped up with the only goal of the game as Porto beat Boavista, making him our strongest Liga NOS selection.

CDM: Wilfried Ndidi (Leicester City)
Leicester moved up to second in the Premier League following their commanding 2-0 win over Arsenal, and Ndidi was the dominant force in the Foxes midfield with a Man of the Match display.
CM: Donny van de Beek (Ajax)
Two goals in a 4-0 home victory for Ajax over Utrecht is more than enough for Van De Beek to get the nod.
CAM: Radja Nainggolan (Cagliari)
The Belgian midfielder is enjoying a new lease of life at Cagliari, most recently scoring and providing three assists against Fiorentina.
LM: Dimitri Payet (Marseille)
Payet lined up on the left wing against Lyon but was still instrumental to Marseille’s 2-1 victory, scoring both goals.

RW: Lionel Messi (Barcelona)
Snubbed last week and also overlooked in the Road To The Final promotion, it seems inevitable that Messi will finally bag a long-awaited upgrade after his free-kick masterclass against Celta Vigo.
ST: Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)
Lewandowski was on fire yet again this weekend, scoring twice in Die Klassiker against Dortmund.
However, his consistent displays put him in with a shout for Bundesliga Player of the Month so either David Alaba or Alphonso Davies could benefit if the Pole is omitted here.
ST: Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)
Benzema has been excellent for Real this season and scored twice more as Los Blancos beat Eibar 4-0.

GK: Thomas Strakhosa (Lazio)
Strakhosa saved a penalty and pulled off eight other saves as Lazio beat Lecce 4-2, but Udinese stopper Juan Musso is also in with a shout after saving a late spot-kick to earn his side a draw against SPAL.
RWB: DeAndre Yedlin (Newcastle United)
Yedlin is far from a regular goalscorer but the American bagged the first of Newcastle’s two goals as they came from behind to beat Bournemouth.
CB: James Tarkowski (Burnley)
The Burnley centre-back provided an assist and helped the Clarets to a comfortable clean sheet in a 3-0 win over West Ham.
RM: Patrick Hermann (Borussia Monchengladbach)
Hermann struck a double for Mönchengladbach in their 3-1 victory over Werder Bremen.
CAM: Denis Bouanga (Saint-Etienne)
Two goals for Bouanga in a 3-2 win for Saint-Etienne makes the Gabon ace a solid pick.
LM: Mislav Orsic (Dinamo Zagreb)
Orsic has already picked up one IF this season but another hat-trick in a 5-0 win over Rijeka puts him in the frame again.
ST: Erling Braut Haland (Red Bull Salzburg)
Yet another hat-trick for Haland, this time against Wolfsberger, takes his tally up to 26 goals in 18 matches across all competitions this season.

LB: Victor Rodriguez (Seattle Sounders)
Seattle were crowned MLS champions this week, so Man of the Match Rodriguez should be included in the Team of the Week.
CAM: Henry Martin (Club America)
Martin was lethal in a deeper role against Veracruz, scoring three and supplying an assist in the 5-0 hammering.
ST: Ludovic Ajorque (Strasbourg)
A goal and two assists as Strasbourg beat Nimes 4—1 should se Ajorque make the cut.
ST: Rouwen Hennings (Fortuna Dusseldorf)
Dusseldorf may not have won but Hennings certainly caught the eye with all the goals for his side in a 3-3 draw.
ST: Christian Doidge (Hibernian)
A final hat-trick to complete this week’s selection, with Doidge bagging a treble in Hibernian’s 4-1 win away at St Johnstone.
